Liked the Floggin' Molly song, cigs! Maybe you'll like this - I love the lyrics
Birmingham 1982 / Maria Taylor
Dinner call in the late afternoon The sun step down for the moon Story books, night lights And I still remember songs Pianos sing along And the coloured sounds of spring Its harmony Do you still remember? Fireflies, four-leaf clovers Fingerpainted skin Where life was a reaction And love was just laughing with a friend
Down out in the backyard stream Make a wish for your dream Maybe a kiss maybe a ring And I still remember songs The banjos sing along And the crisp sound of fall I still recall Do you still remember?
Flashlights under covers Raindrops on my tongue When life had no distractions And love wasn't hurting anyone
Fireflies, four-leaf clovers Fingerpainted skin We don't know where we're going We'll get nowhere if we've forgotten where we've been
Gungas! This was beautiful! I kept waiting for a Yeti to barge in through the window, or some other concentration breaker worthy of your posting attention!
Is this you or someone you know? We need to fatten him up! So skinny - and talented!
I'm absolutely obsessed with this song! Just saw the movie, which was delightful and sweet and very imaginative. Ignore the Kanji floating by; it's the Japanese credits from the movie. This is the best recording I could find of the song. The woman's voice is pure and sweet, and the melody is very simple and singable.
Sounds like it was based on Pachelbel's Canon in D.
I know it's not in keeping with the spirit of the other stuff posted here, but...well...there you go.
Weird Al is a genius! Thanks, Possum - I had not seen that!
I am white but I must not be too nerdy - I think Picard has it ALL OVER Kirk!
One of my favorite lines of all time was from the Shatner roast. Kimmel showed us a paper bag, "Bill, help me win a bet, here" he said, "Act your way out of this! I know you can!"
Never heard this one before! And totally appropriate, as I've been severely abusing mine tonight. It was Mr. Thing's birthday; I made cake with icing; there was leftover icing...*was*...it was yummy!
I have no idea, I was wondering about that myself. But I appreciated it for it's oddity.
Singin' in the classes Music for your masses Give no head, no backstage passes Have a proper giggle I'll be quite polite But when I rocks the mic I rock the mic (Right!)
If you got no love, and you're with the wrong man It's time to move your body If you can't get a girl, But your best friend can It's time to move your body...
I've been the needle and the thread Weaving figure eights and circles round your head I try to laugh but cry instead Patiently wait to hear the words you've never said
Fumbling through your dresser drawer, Forgot what I was looking for Try to guide me in the right direction Making use of all this time Keeping everything inside Close my eyes and listen to you crying...
Don't think sorrys easily said Don't try turning tables instead You've taken lots of chances before But I'm not gonna give anymore Don't ask me Thats how it goes Cause part of me knows what you're thinking
Don't say words you're gonna regret Don't let the fire rush to your head Ive heard the accusation before And I ain't gonna take any more Believe me The sun in your eyes Made some of the lies worth believing
Chorus: I am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more To know that I can read your mind, I can read your mind
Don't leave false illusions behind Don't cry 'cause I ain't changing my mind So find another fool like before Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving
You suck my blood like a leech You break the law and you preach Screw my brain till it hurts You?ve taken all my money And you want more Misguided old mule with your pig headed rules With your narrow minded cronies Who are fools of the first division Death on two legs You?re tearing me apart Death on two legs You?ve never had a heart of your own Kill joy bad guy big talking small fry You?re just an old barrow boy Have you found a new toy to replace me? Can you face me? But now you can kiss my ass goodbye Feel good are you satisfied? Do you feel like suicide? (I think you should) Is your conscience all right Does it plague you at night? Do you feel good feel good?
You talk like a big business tycoon You?re just a hot air balloon So no one gives you a damn You?re just an overgrown schoolboy Let me tan your hide A dog with disease You?re the king of the ?sleaze? Put your money where your mouth is Mister know-all Was the fin on your back Part of the deal? (shark) Death on two legs You?re tearing me apart Death on two legs You?ve never had a heart (you never did) of your own (right from the start) Insane you should be put inside You?re a sewer rat decaying in a cesspool of pride Should be made unemployed Then make yourself null and void Make me feel good I feel good
Wow I never paid attention to the lyrics on Eye In The Sky, they're really nice... Thanks CP
Falling slowly, eyes that know me And I can't go back Moods that take, me and erase me And I'm painted black You have suffered enough And warred with yourself It's time that you won
Take this sinking boat and point it home We've still got time Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice You've made it now Falling slowly sing your melody I'll sing along...
Anyway, I've noticed that many not English-speakers love Queen, but that they just don't know what the damn the lyrics say... My father, as an example. He has always loved the song 'Innuendo', and until he played with me the 'Sing Star Queen edition', he never worried about what Freddy said in the song.
Yup, I agree with you, Mrs. Thing, much better with the moustache and the short hair. Much, much better. Have you seen John Deacon in 'I want to break free'? He actually looks like a schoolgirl! He's a pretty little girl deep inside, I'm sure.
I think you mean Roger Taylor Dolly, John Deacon was dressed up as an old lady in that video. Aww, I love Freddie, but I much much much preffered him with the stubble he grew during the late 80's...I love him in the BrakThru video. YouTube it and put it on here, its a brilliant video, they're all performing on a real moving train! Lol, its great to watch. I'd put it on here myself, but this damn blackberry, you know what its like.
Have any of you seen the 'These are the days of ours lives' video? Omg...he looks very very poorly in that. It was their last ever song, he died 6 months later. The cat waistcoat he wears in that video, he had especially made for him - they were supposed to represent all of the 9 cats I think it was he owned. I cried when I first saw this video...I advise you all to google it if you haven't seen it already. Here's a pic from it...
