He doesn't have to do anything for us at all. He already DID a whole lot, and he went backstage and he met with all of you, and that was a big deal. I don't think you should ask for anything else, truly. We shouldn't be in here begging for his time or attention. Let him be. Enjoy his work, have fun talking about him, but stop trying to make a connection to him, you know? We don't own him. He's been through some hurt, he's only human. We can do things for him, like fans do, but he shouldn't be made to feel obligated to any of us for anything. That's ridiculous. That would build resentment. I already suggested the fans could pay for the forum, that's no big deal. He's super busy. I'm glad for the opportunity to have been in here, and am headed out anyway, proud of the book that came about, or is it two books? Or am I in book two? I don't even know. Anyway, doesn't matter, the forum's in it, and it was a good experience. ....
He will have to communicate to me with a stylus and a slate. It must be written between three o'clock p.m. and a.m. and must not contain the letter r in any of the words, because that's a bad luck message. If he wants to ask "how are you?" he must instead write: how ale you? He must also use alcoholic drinks as verbs.
I think we should keep our distance from him. I think it's only proper. He's a celebrity and his world is different than ours. He gets accosted thousands of times a day, and it would be hard for him to have any kind of reaction that would not cause other things to follow. Such as, what if everybody else decided he should do the same for them. Or what if we expect even more the next time. Just let it be. He has a lot to do. Be glad for the opportunity to have been given the acknowledgement that he did put out there for the forum people, and he has, several times, gone above and beyond. It's enough for me.
